Trial 4 _ 090522

Step 1 : I started from making circulation. as you can see below, The width, length and position of circulation can be changed as much as i want. and it also can be various different shape of circulation such as the tower shape i uploaded below.


Step 2 : And then, The rooms will be attatched to parts of circulation like below images.
Of course number of rooms, size, position related with circulation can be manipulated without any conflict each other. It also will be decided by reflecting the purpose of functions of each program such as different types of hotel rooms and other facilities like conference, restaurant and cafeteria..

One of most important thing is that I can control everythings which are for getting this building such as number of floors, number of branches of each floors, positon, length and width of each branches(corridor), number of spaces(rooms) and length, width and positon of each rooms.. everything!.

Below images are one of a large number of the examples. It had a general building shape. The height can be changed.

Various rooms put together to the circulation. each spaces can be changed in size and positon by the needs.

I am not sure if the explanation would be enough to show it's wide possiblities in term of reflecting of many factors in design.
The bottom line is I can control everything which you can see in images. It means I can get a very diverse building shapes.

Trial 3 _ 090513

Step 1 : I composed whole building shape using box cells. and I supposed each cells are hotel rooms. when I made the silhouette of building, I considered physical conditions which i assumed such as direction of light, city context...
One of the most important things is that i can change the shape as much as i want.





Step 2 : I also supposed other facilities which a hotel needs generally such as lobby, restaurant, cafeteria, fitness, conference.. and then I dicided the position of the facilities and relation between each others in the whole building. After doing it, I controled the size of each fuctions. In the images, the green zones are the fuctions.
Of course I can move the postions and change the sizes as much as i need.




Step 3. This is the problem for me. Actually I didn't success yet using the grasshopper. The images below were made in the Rhino not grasshopper. The process was first I drew the curves following the coners of boxes at each levels. and then i used "loft"command to get a surface.
At last i tried to use " Paneling tools" for population of surface.
but as you see the image below, the shape is not nice and pretty. and Actually I am not sure if the surface for wrapping needs or not.
I think it depends on the program of building.
So it's worth tring to make surface for wrapping.

how did you see so far? I want your wonderful advices.(specially about how to make the surface)

Trial 2 _ 090501


As you can see this image and next two images, I was able to control the shape of each slices to what i want more exactly. I refered the image which you sent by email.



And then if I put together slices which I made shape of, i can get a 3D shapes. it can be changed depends on the modification of each slices.
Each slices can be moved to upper direction or down direction as well as changed self-configuration.


Finally, every-boxes can be controled in it's size exactly. It means that i can design the size and shape of space (Even if it's in box shape) more precisely.
